Sep 18, 2000/ FWD/ --- Want to live out that fantasy of collecting an Oscar for Best Actress?
This collection will have what you need to wear to the prize giving.
From platinum herringbone cashmere bias gowns to gunmetal leather fitted shirts worn with bias
skirts the collection Pamela Dennis showed Monday was a coherent, sexy expression of modern
glam.
Dennis focused almost exclusively on evening, sending out clinging columns in gold satin and
mandarin satin and gold metallic knit cocktail dresses and semi-transparent halter gowns.
But when the Dennis doll steps out in daylight she'll be a lady in white double-face satin
suits or oyster-colored double-face wool jackets.
It wasn't flawless; a group of gowns with square paillettes were fussy and looked rather
amateurish.
Moreover, due to the overlong hems too many of the models looked unsteady.
One even stumbled, losing a precious Harry Winston earring that almost rolled as far as
several gleeful editors in the front row.
But sometimes the best test of a collection is to watch the expression on traditionally
cagey department store executives as they exit a show.
Today buyers exited the Dennis show with broad grins, practically wagging their tails.
No wonder. The collection was composed of sure-fire, money-in-the-bank clothes that many
women will love.
