Patricia Field: Free Spirited

Patricia Field opened her botique House of Field in New York during the 1960s. Free-spirited and style entirely
her own, the House of Field has a very loyal clientele, almost raising Patricia Field's clothes to cult status.
But although she was well known in the New York fashion circuit, Patricia Field did not become a household
name until the second season of HBO's hit show, "Sex and the City." Dressing the four lead characters
each week with the latest fashion made Patricia Field an iconic figure, with a global reach.
In her own words, she said that during the first season of "Sex and the City" it was hard to get
clothes for the lead characters. During the second season, when the show became a qualified success, clothes
and accessories arrive at their doorstep!
Her detractors say that she is just a customer, or just a stylist. But Patricia Field's free-spirited style
had gained her fans from all walks of life.
The House of Field debuted at the tents in Bryant Park during the Spring 2002 season.
