NEW YORK, Feb 4, 2005/ FW/ --- In a rather proper setting, at The Bar Association, Pierre Carrilero for his Pierrot label sent out an autumn winter 2005/06 collection almost entirely of cozy knitwear that he has become so well known for.
New York knit giveaway bags could perhaps continue the already hot craze that has begun to take over this fashion city and its entourage.
Pierrot signature hooded knits, short dresses and mini shorts fit slim silhouettes that accentuate the female form while caplets become the new cardigan and ribbed sweaters sit on the waist.
With knit as his chosen creative outlet, Carrileo paints pictures with wool, adding scenes of ducks, mountains and leafless trees to his wardrobe in a striking winter palette of everything autumn, snow white and blue. Even his accessories are woolen, from berets and clutch bags to leg warmers.
In slow motion, stunned models wandered to tunes from another place, ethnic and natural, at times appearing like arid snow princesses from another time.
Contemporary and functional, Pierrot’s wardrobe is rich and plentiful while remaining basic yet traditional.
Perhaps the far too slow paced walking may have over shadowed his political messages of skulls and ‘Armageddon’ as the last looks of dark ghost ladies made their final round.
Pierrot presented a collection of contrast and imagination made into reality via a piece of yarn, taking a single element and successfully turning it into the tangible.
