MILAN, Jun 28, 2004/ FW/ --- Pringle of Scotland's pure casual elegance shined through for their spring/summer 2005 men's collection. Using their key staple items as well as adding new prints and patterns that gave them an overall effortless and timeless look, Pringle once again presented a must-have collection.
Stuart Stockdale (photo at left) drew his inspiration from the broad silky beaches and the rugged coastlines of Scotland.
Presented on the catwalk were Pringle’s traditional tweeds and linen paired with multi-colored argyle jumpers. Stockdale gave a modern twist by adding prints such as paisley and large checks.
Staying close to the label’s heritage, kilts and knickers were sauntered along the runway in grand style.
The colors of the collection gave a realistic view of the Scottish coastline, highlighting sunset orange, hues of pale sand, faded jade, sunbeam yellow and cloud blue. The color palette as well as the feel of the collection was calming and representative of a great classic beach scene.
Short sleeve cardigans, pointed toe shoes along with argyle printed leather bags gave this 16th century house a modern day face of the new metro male.
Water-proof anoraks and belted fitted short trench coats gave the collection a great warmth and depth of the unpredictable weather of Scotland as well as adding layers to their already textured look.
Many of us may never have the opportunity to experience the Scottish coast, but we can definitely dress the part through this collection...
