Born in Havana in 1965, Osmany R. Laffita graduated from the San Alenjandro Art School in Cuba.
He worked shortly as an editor for a Cuban fashion magazine. At the age of 22, he moved to the
Czech Republic where he decided to settle permanently being enchanted by the beauty of Prague.
Having pumped experience from the houses like Versace and Kenzo, he launched the TAIZa collection
in September 1999.
During the past four years, the Prague flagship store opening was followed by the opening of
as store on the famouse Rue Saint Sulpice in Paris and the beginning of a corner programme for
Taiza which saw its brand distributed in Miami, New York, Moscow, Saint Petersberg Nice, Cannes
and Vienna.
During the Fashion Week of the Americas held in Miami in March 2002, Osmany was honored by
Vogue en Espanol Magazine in receiving the "Designer's Choice" Award.
Taiza debuted on 7th on Sixth during the Spring 2003 season, and also showed its Spring 2003
collection at the American International Designers show at the Waldorf Astoria.
