Tommy Hilfiger Home - Fall 2001

Tommy Hilfiger NEW YORK, Apr 10, 2001/ --- With a cue from his men's and women's collections, Tommy Hilfiger turns his eye to the splendor and beauty of an idyllic East Coast autumn day as inspiration for his fall 2001 Home collection. Florals, paisleys, ginghams and subtle stripes come to life in a gentle color palette reminiscent of the impending changing colors of the leaves and grass. Offering a myriad of new bed and bath ensembles, as well as specific pieces created to enhance already existing collections, Hilfiger is sure to give his loyal fans' homes a fresh perspective for the brisk days ahead.

The successful spring debut of the designer's luxurious Crest Collection -- nine timeless shades of sheets and pillowcases in sumptuous, 400-thread count sateen -- spawns the complementary Crest Damask Collection for fall. Available in whispering ivory, crystal blue, sunflower yellow and angora, these duvet covers, bedskirts, and standard or Euro shams are printed with a subtle floral pattern and an underlying soft woven stripe detail for that unexpected Hilfiger fanfare. Sheets and pillowcases feature the subtlety of the tonal floral. The collection can be interchanged with any of the solid pieces or the traditional elegance of the Sophie sheets and pillowcases. The floral vines of these 400-thread count, pure pima cotton, sateen sheets and pillowcases have a vintage '50s flair and a soothing palette of angora, sage and ivory. Miniature silk shantung pillows in solid shades to match the damask are adorned with an allover baby button detail. For one last element of luxury, just add the Crest Collection's plush ring spun, Egyptian cotton towels and soft bath rugs to any bathroom.

The antique pastels, vintage florals and feminine ruffles of the Juliana collection capture the romantic tradition of the most intimate bed and breakfast. The basis of this 400-thread count ensemble is the pale sea color of the sheets and pillowcases. With their soft pink roses and pin dotted background, the juxtaposed colors set the stage for that youthful spark for which Hilfiger is known. The pink, rose and sage flowered duvet is grounded in antique cream and reverses to a fine printed stripe in the same blend of colors. A bedskirt mirrors the duvet reverse, while standard shams reflect the floral duvet top with striped ruffle detail. The duvet is printed on a brushed, ottoman textured ground, resulting in a sueded feeling that is nothing short of sumptuous. Decorative Euro shams and pillows are cream with rose ribbon embroidery on the corners, evocative of a vintage handkerchief.

The warm colors of fall -- garnet, angora and loden -- awaken the senses in the masculine meets feminine world of the Heirloom Paisley collection. Texture is integral here, as sateen, velvet and silk play off one another like falling leaves. The richly colored, paisley duvet is available in either velvet or sateen, both of which reverse to subtle pinstripe with a menswear charm. The angora ground of the sheets, pillowcases and Euro shams give the large, vintage wallpaper-inspired floral vines the chance to shine, while a tonal stripe remains ever so understated in the background. For added versatility, the floral Euro shams reverse to the same stripe as the duvet reverse. A beaded silk pillow in loden finishes this look.

Purely feminine in its appeal is Rutherford Gardens, a subtle floral ensemble grounded in ivory. The Italian printed collection features a self-reverse red/blue and khaki floral duvet cover with an ivory background. Soft khaki crosshatching adds an element of texture to the ground while the similarly sublime addition of the designer's signature gives it that special Hilfiger twist. Euro shams, a bedskirt and a neck roll have ivory stripes juxtaposed with a repetitive dainty red/blue floral stripe detail. Sheets and pillowcases in a miniature blue gingham print highlight the floral in the duvet, while standard shams utilize the duvet's large floral design, albeit with floral stripe ruffle detail to match the bedskirt. The pop of blue provides the perfect excuse to experiment with denim pieces, such as Euro shams, decorative pillows or a comforter from the Hilfiger Classics line, or even a navy cotton Brimfield blanket.

For an equally sophisticated bedroom, look no further than Natalie, an Italian printed, rose and ocean based collection that gives new meaning to the word fresh. Two hundred-thread count sheets and pillowcases in ocean get an irreverent pop with their allover strawberry design and tiny printed Tommy Hilfiger signature. Euro shams and the top of the duvet is a printed checkerboard, juxtaposing squares of ocean gingham and a floral design. The duvet reverses to the same sweet floral stripe that is apparent on both standard shams and the bedskirt. A white deck pillow has the ultimate adornment, embroidered strawberries. For those who prefer options, Hilfiger offers white eyelet sheets and pillowcases, which give the ensemble a completely different appeal. Strawberries abound in the bath collection as well: a vinyl shower curtain and ceramic bath accessories have an allover strawberry print to complement the sheets; towels are embroidered with strawberries or blackberries; and a large soft strawberry becomes the ideal rug. Rounding out the bath products is a fabric shower curtain mirroring the top of the duvet, large blue and white checkerboard towels and light pink towels with a feminine white floral design.

Leaving no stone unturned, Hilfiger turns out lighthearted collections ideal for back to school time. No college dorm would be complete without the ever-popular denim bedding, which Hilfiger does in a surprisingly fresh way this season. The Hilfiger Classics denim comforter reverses to Hilfiger's signature blue and white stripes, while denim Euro shams ground the head of the bed. The designer, renowned throughout the world for his playful combinations, introduces shams, throw pillows and even a quilt in a bright plaid patchwork as part of his Jack ensemble. Red and white checked sheets and pillowcases have the blue oxford cuffs taken from your favorite classic shirt. The more whimsical customer might play with the look of this bed even more and incorporate large bandana print shams, or perhaps the TH Rodeo sheets and pillowcases with an allover cowboy motif. The bandana print is also introduced in the bathroom as a shower curtain and on acrylic accessories, both in red. For girls, it's denim meets flower power. The Jenna sheets and pillowcases set off the miniature ditzy floral pattern in red, pink and green, while red ric rac adds an element of fun. The comforter features a larger floral in the same colors that reverses to a sea green check. Denim Euro shams, throw pillows and bedskirt add a modern appeal, as does a red cotton Brimfield blanket.

Rounding out Hilfiger's offerings for fall is an update to the best- selling tommy.com bed. The easily identifiable bubble sheets and pillowcases are now available in white with a yellow, dark and light blue geographic print.
