NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2005 / FW – Under the klieg lights at the Plaza in Bryant Park, Tracy Reese opened the third day of Olympus Fashion Week with 41 exits with a collection entitled, ‘Pattern Play, An Artist at Heart and Sweet Inspiration.’
Using layers of color, texture and pattern in metallic shot fabrics of chiffon and velvet. Color palette combinations of sapphire & crimson, gold & pumpkin all combined with neutral tones of brown, black and camel using delicate beading as well as ruching and draping throughout the collection.
The pieces offer looser shapes that are softer and slouchier. Accented with appliqués, lace and intricate buttons.
Tracy also showed chiffon and chantilly lace against brocade rich vintage velvet and chenille as well as cropped jackets with a touch of Victorian detailing and dress inspired coats in opulent fabrics with strong pattern plays.
Though she made it difficult to pick a favorite, the cherry embossed velvet jacket worn over an ivory blouson cami and cummerbund pant, the dufy lace double bow jacket and pleated skirt, the flower corsage beaded drop shoulder dress, the interior blue waffle coat and beaded swag skirt worn over a heather blue keyhole turtle and the sweet peach beaded swag slip were just a few of the standouts.
So if you want to be playful, breezy and a bit audacious comes Fall 2005? Then Tracy Reese is your answer.
