NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2007 / FW --- It was a serendipitous moment five years ago when FashionWindows first saw Tracy Reese’s collection. Since then, we have followed her career, watching the Detroit-born designer become better and stronger every passing season.
And for Fall 2007, once again, she surpassed all our expectations sending out a very a very polished collection that combined American functionality with European aesthetics.
Sheered dropdown waist dresses, peplum brief jackets with oversized puff sleeves, trapeze coats and tent minis; the 1960s was very much present in the collection, a well coordinated mixture of mod and Jackie Kennedy.
With black as the base color, Reese added silver, maroon, coral rose, different washes of beige and several shades of gray, keeping the collection tight and coherent from the first exit to the last, a sleeveless trapeze mini in shiny coral with Baroque shapes running from the neckline to the hemline.
The look on the runway is head to toe Tracy Reese – including her new signature line of designer accessories – including shoes, handbags and jewelry co-designed with Gerard Yosca.
Reese also debuted limited edition hosiery designed exclusively for the show that also marked the first collaboration for the launch of HUE Legwear’s Guest Designer Program.
Hence, no legwarmers for the Tracy Reese ladies this fall. Instead, they will be wearing deliciously beautiful hosiery from their favorite designer.
