Vera Wang NEW YORK, Feb 14, 2005/ FW/ --- She might be better known as a wedding gown designer, but Vera Wang’s ready-to-wear line is as ethereal, even as romantic as her bridal gowns.

Last Thursday at Bryant Park, the duenna of weddings presided over a winning pręt-a-porter collection, proposing a dreamy wardrobe for fall.

Sleeveless below the knee tiered skirts, comfortable velvet pants paired with a silk top and finished with a short cropped open jacket, two-tone golden slip dress with an empire waist – these are just samplings of her delicate creations that can easily be part of a bride’s trousseau or otherwise.

No, you don’t have to get married so that you can own the garments from this collection. It’s for the sophisticated city girl who loves to dress up, whether shopping at Bergdorf Goodman or in a chic downtown club.

A youthful collection meant for women in their 20s and 30s, the looks are so timeless that even those already in retirement can wear them with ease and assurance.

This is one of the collections that I can’t wait for it to finally hit stores. The next six months will be very long…
