DALLAS, Dec 11, 2006 / FW/ --- Delicate and dreamy, Vera Wang’s Spring 2007 collection that will be available in stores starting February next year is a modern day interpretation of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night Dream wherein the nymphs are metro girls while the woods can easily be New York’s Central Park or at the Hamptons.
Loose fitting pants that sometimes were proposed as Capri lengths, voluminous tops and blouses that had a medieval feel for both the peasant girl and the castle’s princess, it’s a fairy tale much like Ms. Wang’s new perfume, Princess.
The silhouettes are varied, from princess to tubular to ballerina. Chiffon dresses and tops were layered with cardigan sweaters inspired by the cape. Long-sleeved tees were worn under tube shaped chiffon apron.
Eveningwear is subtle, more like floor length frocks in taupe chiffon or gold lamé. It’s ethereal and delicate, which once again is reminiscent of another famous work of literature, the poem ‘She Walks In Beauty.’
The color palette is neutral, with black and different shades of white as the dominant colors. Metallic bronze and gold gave it piazza, while the original hibiscus print added that summery feel.
It’s not the traditional summer look, but still perfect for those pleasant spring days and warm summer months.
