DALLAS, Sep 11, 2002/ FW/ --- Whoever said that 13 is an unlucky number was DEFINITELY NOT talking
about Malaysian-born designer Zang Toi.
As the New York-based designer enters his lucky 13th year in business, he receives a
prestigious award from the International Center of New York at their Gala Award Dinner on
Tuesday October 8th at the Grand Hyatt in New York.
This award is given to foreign-born individuals who have made a significant contribution
to life in America.
Sharing the spotlight with Zang Toi are Daisy Exposito-Ulla, Chairman and CEO of The Bravo
Group and Fred H. Lang, Hammer President and CEO of Estee Lauder Companies, Inc.
Gifted with a great color sense which translates to exuberance in designs, Zang Toi is
known for his crisp tailoring and luxurious designs.
"I love the idea of a woman wearing something spectacular that makes her feel and
look spectacular," commented the designer last December when he showed his Archive
Collection for Spring 2002.
For Spring 2003, Zang Toi stays true to his luxurious design philosophy, with a
generous dash of romance thrown into it.
Unveiling the collection on September 21 at 7PM at Wallace Hall, Zang Toi's Spring
2003 collection is inspired by the romantic rose gardens of the lush Cotswold English
countryside and the seductive fragrances and old-world beauty of David Austin's English
Roses.
The Spring 2003 collection promises to be romantic, yet dangerously seductive.
Immediately after the show, Zang Toi and his guests will celebrate his 13th year in business
with a champagne reception at the beautiful Wallace Hall venue.
