Zang Toi NEW YORK, Sep 4, 2003/ FW/ --- On Saturday, Sep 13, at 7:00PM at Josephine at the tents of Bryant Park, the mistress of the Mediterranean meets the pretty young ballerina on the runway.

From Zang Toi's fertile imagination, two fairytale characters come to life - the sexy siren and the innocent dancer.

They are from the opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to their charm. Yet, they have one thing in common - both of them are irresistible.

The ballerina in different shades of pink complemented with black, while the mermaid will florick in brilliant emerald and turquoise.

The question - which one of them will finally seduce the hot blooded Mediterranean playboy?

When you hear Zang Toi describe it, he makes it sound so easy converging two opposites and making them as one statement.

Under less experienced hands, one might wonder what will be the results. But, not with Zang Toi's masterful execution. Known for his unique color sense and extravagant designs, his luxurious creations make you feel like a star.

Yet on November 7, 2003, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago, Zang Toi will be the star.

The New York-based designer is receiving the Fashion Group International's 'Star Gazer Award for Designer Apparel' during FGI's Night of Stars.

A yearly event, the Night of Stars honors the prestigious names, brands and companies that move the fashion industry forward within the five important categories - Retail, Accessories, Beauty, Interiors and Designer Apparel.

During the event, Zang Toi will be acknowledged as an industry icon, highlight his partnership with Nordstrom, the retail awardee for the evening, and spotlight the designer's commitment to quality and innovation.

The Star Gazer Award will be Zang Toi's second recognition as a force in the fashion industry within a span of a year. Last October 8, 2002 in New York, he received the 'International Center Award' for being a role model to immigrants. The International Center of New York is dedicated to the advancement of immigrants.
