Aug 23, 2002/ FW/ -- Ermenegildo Zegna, the Italian men's designer clothing line, has
been chosen to outfit Al Pacino in New Line Cinema's upcoming comedy, "Simone," due out in
theaters on Friday, August 23.
"Simone" stars Al Pacino as disillusioned film director Viktor Taransky, who
creates the first totally believable synthetic actress: Simone. However, swept
up by her instant success, including a major singing career, Taransky cannot
bear to admit his fraud to the world or himself.

The film also stars Catherine
Keener, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Jason Schwartzman and Jay Mohr. And introducing
Simone as herself. "Simone" is written, directed and produced by Academy
Award-nominated screenwriter Andrew Niccol (writer/director of "Gattaca," and
writer/producer of "The Truman Show").
For Pacino's role, "Simone's" costume designer, Elisabetta Beraldo, needed a
wardrobe that made a timeless, yet fashionable statement.
Beraldo, who has also
created the wardrobes for Gregory Hoblit's "Hart's War" and "Frequency" and two
Gregory Nava films, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" and "Selena," chose Zegna for
its superior product.
"Zegna is famous for its classic style yet contemporary
look. The designer clothing provides the best fit, finest material and
tremendous quality," said Beraldo.
A big-screen fashion veteran, Zegna has been featured in numerous blockbuster
films on many of Hollywood's leading men; Nicholas Cage in "The Family Man,"
Will Smith in "Enemy of the State," "A Civil Action" with John Travolta and
"Devil's Advocate" with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves.
Ermenegildo Zegna caters to
many celebrities off the red carpet as well, including Tobey Maguire, Denzel
Washington, Kyle Maclachlan and Jim Caviezel.
The Ermenegildo Zegna Group is the world leader in fine men's clothing. Still
managed as a family business by the fourth generation of the family, Ermenegildo
Zegna was founded in 1910 in Trivero, a small town in the Biella Alps, by
