DALLAS, Nov 8, 2005/ FW/ --- Santa Claus is coming early for Alexander McQueen fans as the London-based designer announced that he is launching a denim-based ready-to-wear line under the new label ‘McQ – Alexander McQueen’ set to launch worldwide in January 2006 for the Fall / Winter 2006 season and available in stores June 2006.

Created as a complement to the luxury prêt-a-porter and accessories line already in existence, McQ is expected to reach a much wider audience with plans to distribute it worldwide.

With men’s and women’s ready-to-wear plus accessories as the label’s initial offering, Alexander McQueen will design McQ exclusively. Under a five-year licensing agreement with SINV SpA, the Italian company will manufacture and distribute the new denim line globally.

"I am very excited about this partnership with SINV SpA, which will add a new and inspiring dimension to the McQueen world,” said the multi-recipient of the British Designer of the Year award.

As with most denim lines, the focus of McQ is a youthful target market. What will make it different from the rest is that it will be signature McQueen – renegade and revolutionary, qualities that fashionistas love so much about the British designer.
