Living Out Loud!

It is always fun to see the Antoni & Alison runway show. It provides a comic relief during
the very serious Fashion Week. There's always something to make you smile!
But don't be fooled, because although the messages might be seriously funny, Antoni & Alison take
designing seriously!
With a show entitled "At last I’ve found you, I was almost going mad," it was
a giveaway that the show is going to be whimsical and humorous. And, it was classic
Antoni & Alison.
For, who could have put "I love New York" and "I hate
New York" at the same show and get away with it? Only this design duo.
My favorite was the t-shirt that says, "Save me." The model was wearing a little
red hood, a definite pun on Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf!
Or, how can someone miss "Nobody undermines me?" A model was holding books, a student
perhaps? A social comment? It might not make sense, but it definitely makes you think. The
last message on a t-shirt - "The End" Definitely, it's living out loud when you're
wearing an Antoni & Alison t-shirt.
For the other half of the collection, Antoni & Alison presented 1940s inspired daywear and
separates.
They're bubblegum sweet with a touch of seriousness you almost expect either
Sandra Dee or Lucille Ball to walk in.
Gingham and stripes were mixed and coordinated,
plaid and paisley in one outfit. Not the usual combination you will see, and would look
awful if handled by inexperienced hands.
But not for Antoni & Alison who can mix and match
these incongruent prints and come up with a very wearable and easygoing pieces.
Below the knee skirts, either pencil cut or A-line with box pleats dominated the separates.
Trousers are comfortable and body hugging, showing those gorgeous curves.
It's almost a return
to those innocent days, except that these women now have a social concience, no matter how
funny they may sound.
