Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts make up the design duo Antoni & Alison who met as students
while both were studying at Central St. Martin's.
After graduation, they launched Antoni & Alison (1987) with a very avant-garde approach to
design that their T-shirts were an overnight success.
The T-shirts made funny and whimsical statements.
The statements can be political at times and even make a social comment or two.
No matter what it is saying, there is always the element of fun.
In fact, Antoni & Alison make it look like designing is easy and fun, though to the duo, it
is a business that they take seriously.
From T-shirts, they have expanded to womenswear and accessories.
Today, they have a stand-alone store and their creations are sold in three continents -
America, Asia and Europe.
Not bad for "funny t-shirts" which has been a "serious business" from the very beginning.
