New York/ FWD/ --- More so than other designers, Badgley Mischka can delight an audience by
turning out what people rely on them for: high-wattage, classic glamour.
They rarely disappoint. And one can always depend on Messrs. Badgley and Mischka to express
some of fashion's current moods, turned up a notch with the sizzle that's made them a
perennial favorite among Hollywood celebs and socialites.
This season, the designers went for the gold with a collection that could easily outshine
some of the actresses who don their gowns for awards shows and galas.
Call it the new gold rush of the millennium: gold was present throughout, whether in strappy
dresses or halters paired with wispy chiffons.
For spring, the design duo also got graphic, with beaded Missoni-style stripes and
chevron-patterned (pink and blue) stripes wrapping around slinky, vampy dresses, some of
which came pleated at the side.
In tune with the season, the pair turned out some shimmering shirtdresses and superb
black off-the-shoulder beaded dresses that are sure to please.
Even though they planned to broaden offerings for day, the designers focused heavily on
eveningwear, eclipsing a few impeccable pantsuits sprinkled throughout the collection.
