It has been five years since Ben de Lisi won the Most Glamorous Designer Award, but he has not
lost his touch. His Fall 2001 collection is the proof!
Effortless glamour and an interesting fabric mix make Ben de Lisi's eveningwear Oscar
contenders. Using a red-based color pallette of red, cherry and orange, plus splashes of
gold and exquisite beading, the whole collection is a must-see for the celebrities and
stars planning to walk the red carpet in Los Angeles for the Academy Awards.
Body hugging and sexy, with high slits and V-necks for plunging necklines, Ben de Lisi's
talent of creating understated sexiness and oozing sex appeal showed. He must be really
thinking of Hollywood!
But who can blame him? With the media coverage of the Academy Awards, a designer gets a lot
of mileage if his creations are seen in the North American broadcast of the show. And it does
not even include the syndication yet, when the show is run all over the world!
As for his daywear, nothing can go wrong. Again, thinking of Hollywood, it's something that
can be worn in those endless parties and shopping at Rodeo Drive.
Ben de Lisi's concession to the hot military look for this season, his use of some of the
greenish gold in some of his daywear. He definitely did not want an army of models, he just
wanted an "army of one!"
