LONDON, Feb 22, 2003/ FW/ --- Known for his light hand, Ben De Lisi does not go for
shock tactics. He allows the clothes to speak for themselves.
And that was the mood during his Fall 2003 show held last Sunday at the BFC Square.
"Ben De Lisi is all about understated glamour," commented one editor.
And as the models paraded on the catwalk, you'll know that the editor is right.
The designer sent velvet, silk and chiffon on the runway, expertly tailored to
accentuate the shoulders, the waist and of course the legs. (How can you miss it with
the mini-skirts shown in almost every runway from New York to London this season?)
And the finale - a series of ladies in red, just right in time for the awards season.
Ben De Lisi who became a buzzword among the stylist community in Hollywood by dressing
British actress Kate Winslet for the Oscars, showed with this collection that his fame
with the Hollywood crowd is not just a flash in the pan.
He has a sure hand in designing eveningwear.
This is also the second season that the designer showed both menswear and womenswear
together. He launched his BDL menswear last season, and has since then proven to be another
Ben De Lisi winner!
