NEW YORK, Feb 12, 2003/ FW/ --- Only Betsey Johnson can get away with it - use her old
collections as inspiration for the current season and add a touch of Mexico.
Entitled 'Betseyville', the show pokes fun on the designer herself by herself.
Trust Betsey to make the runway a barrelful of laughs!
As expected, it was an eclectic collection, pulled together by the title and Betsey's
own style.
Lesser designers cannot get away with it. But Betsey did, because SHE IS Betsey Johnson.
Notable piece is one of the three wedding dresses - a mini skirt and without a train.
The skirt is so full and the waistline empire, the bride looks like a doll, literally!
This is not the first time that Betsey Johnson used herself as inspiration for a
collection.
During the Fall 2001 season, her collection entitled 'Betsey's Closet' garnered
praise from fashion editors because all the models were made-up and dressed like
Betsey Johnson!
Bless your heart Betsey for treating fashion the way it should be treated - fun!
