Betty Jackson: Street Chic
By: Stacey Appel
LONDON, Feb 20, 2002/ FW/ --- For Autumn/ Winter '02-'03, Betty Jackson served up a
collection that paired tough street-chic with soft feminine touches.
Bleached-out
denim, bondage jackets, and military styles shared the runway with
angora sweaters, soft poet's blouses, and boucle coats.
Ensembles were
topped with sheepskin capes with matching headbands.
Smocking and
puckered ribbon detailing were prevalent.
Roomy knits in beige and blue
were coupled with longer length frilly skirts.
There was also a lot of
leather, most notable a halter top with super-long fringe that
criss-crossed and tied behind the neck.
Sitting front row center was
none other than Boy George, who seemed to be enjoying himself and no
doubt scoping the show for something that might work for him.
