Betty Jackson Spring 2006: Relaxed & Casual
London Fashion Week Spring 2006
LONDON, Sep 23, 2005/ FW/ --- Summer means fun and being outside enjoying the sun. Betty Jackson wants you to get pleasure from it to the fullest looking your best in frilly slip dresses and loose fitting shorts paired with empire-waist spaghetti strap blouses.
Jackson who is known for her very directional take on fashion never faltered in this tight and well-edited collection featuring looks that is just pleasing to the eyes.
Take the opening number for example, a tailored, loosely fitted satin coat with ¾ puff sleeves cinched at the waist with a sash made from the same material. Just perfect for the cool spring days!
And that was just the beginning. She followed it with baby doll dresses and tops, with big buttons and baby collars. And to make it more exciting, beautiful sun dresses in orange, sheered at the waist embellished with little bows, that is just so unobtrusive, you almost do not know its there.
Still, it is in the detailing that Betty Jackson showed her sure hand in design. Darts at the right places to emphasize the female form, lacy hemlines and original prints round up this beautiful collection.
The surefire hot seller – the beige short-sleeved knit with the collar extending all the way to the waist, the buttons not completely closing the bodice showing a hint of skin, while the skirt are three horizontal panels of knits with scallop finishing.
It’s sexy without being overt. It’s relaxed and casual with the right amount of form to make it the ‘must have’ look for the summer.
