DALLAS, Sep 21, 2005/ FW/ --- Now on their second season in New York, Boudicca designed by Brian Kirby and Zowie Broach, keeps its forward-thinking avant-garde feel in very wearable silhouettes.
Like Alexander McQueen, Boudicca was once a protégé of American Express, receiving grants from the financial company giant for the development of the label.
Last February, the two Middlesex Polytechnic graduates decided to move to the Big Apple to broaden their market reach.
And it looks like it was the right decision, as the New York fashion set cannot get enough of their slightly futuristic designs that are firmly rooted for today’s fashion.
Following the trend of using neutral color palettes that swept 7th Avenue this season, Kirby and Broach chose gray and black with khaki and red as complimenting hues.
With their signature puff sleeves on blouses, dresses and jackets, Boudicca had their audience at ‘hello,’ as they sent 27 looks on the runway.
Waists are high emphasized by sash belts and tuxedo cummerbunds that was almost a requisite on the separates that were shown.
Snug fitting Capri length pants were worn with oversized jackets while layering tiny pleated skirts and wraps created volume.
Skirts were mostly tailored, but just for a change of pace, the design duo also sent asymmetrical hemlines formed by adding bias cut material on an A-line skirt.
If you are a shoe lover, better check out the shoes because those stacked heels will be a favorite in March. Boudicca also proposed using gloves. It might look out of season, but since they are made of very light materials, it will be great to have them during those cool spring nights.
