Boyd: Rock Chic
By: Boyd Davis

For Fall 2001, Boyd's collection is all about the woman as a rock star.
Dare I say, Madonna?
The runway looked like a trailer for the Material Girl's latest video.
A little bit naughty and sexy, with a hint of S&M.
All that is missing is the bustier, wherein Boyd made the right decision to
avoid it.
After all, Jean-Paul Gaultier cornered that market for Madonna already.
Amidst all the sexual innuendos on the runway, the retail buyers did not
have a hard time finding the wearable pieces.
That is, you don't have to be on stage or an MTV video to wear it.
And that is one thing you can say about Boyd.
She can stay with the theme of the collection, but not forget that
real women will have to wear the clothes.
She can participate in the "London runway madness," but still make the
retail buyers take out their pen and note down what they will order for
the coming season.
And that is what they did!
So expect this collection on store shelves this coming Spring.
