NEW YORK, Sep 26, 2002/ FW/ --- For Spring 2003, "La Dolce Vita" and its sexy
glamour were what's inspired Carmen Marc Valvo.
Colors were simple: black,
white, or nude, with a few cardinal red pieces to pop off the runway.
Exquisite
cutwork leather was used for skinny pencil skirts, shirt dresses, and
multi-tiered skirts.
Guipure lace capri pants were paired with cashmere gauze
tanks, cotton tulle cardigans with linen trousers.
The corset (proving to be a
huge trend for spring) also showed up in satin and worn over dresses or alone
with pants.
For evening, it was all slender gowns and cocktail dresses. Bias
slips and and halter styles had details like ruching, fringe, and beaded
appliques.
They were the real show-stoppers in a show that is more than
red-carpet ready.
The Carmen Marc Valvo show is something that a woman can thorougly enjoy.
As Alicia Colon of the New York Sun wrote in her column, "All 55 samples were
beautiful sensual designs of glorious materials. These are clothes that will make a woman
feel lovely and feminine."
Ms. Colon said it all for us who attended the show.
