Catherine Malandrino Spring 2005: And the Party Continues
New York Fashion Week Spring 2005

NEW YORK, Sep 14, 2004/ FW/ --- Having one of the most intriguing exhibitions of the day, Catherine Malandrino truly threw a great party.
The Catherine Malandrino presentation included static and live models dressed in her spring/summer 2005 collection.
The live models were intricately placed around the future site of her newest store in New York. With glass chandeliers and white chases, the atmosphere was created perfectly for a classy show.
Gaining her inspiration from Blake Edwards’ 1968 movie, “The Party,” Malandrino cocktail dresses illuminated the room with gold lame prints on the most delicate chiffons. Intriguing hand crochet, macramé’s and embroideries were seen on just about every piece of the collection. As the string quartet played, it really took me back in a time when people dined and partied well.
Malandrino designs were on an innocent white and watercolor palette. Very natural shades of midnight, sungold, beige and horizon were on camisoles and jackets.
Bermuda trousers styled with linen sleeveless tops offset great summer party dresses with empire waste lines.
The collection was full of nostalgia of a time almost forgotten.
