DALLAS, Dec 12, 2006/ FW/ --- Proposing mini skirts with a just a few pieces of pantsuit sets, Catherine Malandrino dressed summer debutants in sweetly sophisticated ensembles.
Opting for a mostly white color palette, with splashes of bright red and pastel shades of blue and pink, Malandrino’s Spring/ Summer 2007 collection offers a full wardrobe for the young adult’s lifestyle, i.e. the college campus, spring breaks, fraternity balls, including weekend getaways.
Blouson dresses with a wide band at the hemline, separates with mini pencil skirt paired with a peplum blouse with an oversized collar, spaghetti strap tunic with square eyelets, tube jumpsuit and communion white dresses rolled at the hemline – it’s a very cosmopolitan look that is not threatening but rather endearing.
Eveningwear are mini cocktail dresses that either featured bare shoulders or spaghetti straps that were adorned with inverted seams or beads and sequins. Woven or ruche bodices give an added piazza.
Everything is lovely; each piece is beautiful on its own. Put together, it is a very coherent and strong collection.
