By Heide Winkenwerder
NEW YORK, Sept 15, 2005 / FW / - Soft and innocent looks are at hand for the Chaiken Spring 2006 collection that played on the colors of the season.
Showing a total of 38 exits in luxe fabrics of viscose, silk/satin, linen, cashmere, silk organza, silk georgette and the ever comfort giving cotton just to name a few. Using soft hues of nude, lead, platinum, ebony, ice and of course spicing it up with amethyst, forest, aqua and your basic black.
The use of knit rope belts were seen on a number of her dresses, skirts and pants. The collection has a very relaxed feel to it. The wearability is most certainly there.
Simplicity followed by innocence one right after the other that fits perfectly spring and summer in the nude viscose channel tee under a black cotton apron dress or a cedar/black viscose studio shirt over paper cotton painters trousers that sits just on the hips.
Pleats as widely seen throughout the week is also part of the details in the Chaiken collection as well as the ruffle like collar.
Therefore, if you want the simple, soft, innocent and comfortable fit for Spring 2006, then Chaiken may just be the ticket for you.
