Chaiken: Perfect New York Wardrobe

Season after season, Chaiken collections echoes the perfect New York wardrobe. Brilliantly inspired,
creative and wearable!
With classic styling, Chaiken never shy away from putting black basics on the runway. In their hands,
black becomes a color, instead of "the little black dress" that goes everywhere and
anywyere. Their talent is making black interesting (and white) and keeping it fashion at the same
time. Of course, they also have an eye for color, but never making it a kaleidoscope. Colors are
never chaotic in the hands of Chaiken. They can give an order to the blasts of color that hit
the runway.
Chaiken Clothing is the brainchild of Julie Chaiken, a native Californian and graduate of UCLA.
She founded Chaiken Clothing in 1994. Once known for "Chaiken Pants," and its sportswear
line, it has expanded to swimwear and evening wear.
In 1998, Jeff Mahshie
joined Chaiken Clothing, bringing with him an understanding of the woman's
body and how it works. Since his arrival to Chaiken, the brand has gone from strength to strength,
making it a label to watch every season.
Jeff Mahshie made his debut for
Chaiken for its Fall 1999 collection.
