PARIS, Mar 7, 2005/ FW/ --- Following his very successful collection for Pucci in Milan, Christian Lacroix sent out a collection with his signature style for his eponymous line last Friday in Paris.
And like his Pucci collection wherein he opted for commercially viable silhouettes without losing artistic integrity, the Paris-based designer duplicated the effort for his own house, giving the new owner Simon Falic, who sat front row at his show a very wide grin.
Considered a master colorist, the collection was a kaleidoscope of colors, but this time, it has sobriety and sanity in fashion, the strongest trend that has come out this season.
Fur trimmed jackets, beribboned tailored suits, a colorful printed paneled dress mixed with a fur shawl, and strapless evening gown with asymmetrical hemline and tiered train dominated this very wearable collection.
Christian Lacroix also introduced a menswear line that energized the collection, as it also transcended into womenswear adding a very boyish, almost androgynous touch.
Combining all the elements at the show, it is the energizing and refreshing vibe that permeated all over.
Maybe it’s a new lease on life, literally and figuratively. After all, the Falic Group had openly said that they would invest the necessary amount to revitalize the brand.
And it looks like the Falic Group is not reneging on its words as the first Christian Lacroix boutique is scheduled to open in Las Vegas this year!
