PARIS, Mar 26, 2005/ FW/ --- Then, there is the slightly ‘cake shop’ reception contrasted with the somber and rich eggplant lacquered salon.
The coup de grace, the bar created to have a local street café ambiance. With ‘scrap-book’ walls, a zinc countertop, 1960s seating in shades of yellow and pink and ‘Edwardian’ furniture thrown in the mix, it’s the old world meeting the new, an eclectic mix of elements that enhance each other, instead of clashing.
“It’s like couture, where the harmony is created from a puzzle of inspirations, where the feeling of the moment is nourished with elements from the past, where modernity lives in the tradition of the present,” commented Christian Lacroix.
And he could have not summed it up any better. It’s his eye for color and beautiful lines, with his mastery of design elements that made function blend seamlessly with art.
