NEW YORK, Feb 13, 2005/ FW/ --- Custo Barcelona's collections usually feel like a thrilling,
high-speed car chase from start to finish. However, this season began with softer prints
that leaned more towards a harmonious blending of Barcelona's multi-cultural elements than the design clashes of the past.
With less emphasis on dizzying patterns, light feminine touches such as gold buttons down the back of a blouse and ruffled lace detailing on jackets emerged gracefully.
The mixing of satin and tweed patchwork on overcoats and dresses with knit overlay created subtle, yet beautiful high/low juxtaposition.
Black and maroon dresses with silver graphic designs helped usher in a new sensibility in the line's bold style.
Off-kilter argyle suits, belted shirts, and t-shirts with softly knitted sleeves effectively maintained Barcelona's quirky edginess. Now that Barcelona's woman has traveled the world over, she is effortlessly able to define bohemian chic.
