New York, Sep 22, 2001/ FW/ --- With New York Fashion Week cut short, Cynthia Rowley held her Spring 2002 collection
at her showroom like a lot of the designers who decided to have a low-key presentation after the terrorist
attack in New York City.
The mood maybe somber in New York City, but Cynthia Rowley's collection gave more than a dash of her
signature style - a lot of fun and with a slant of quirk that would make you smile.
There is a lot of romance in this collection, from the tiny floral prints to the damask fabric that
were used.
There is also some reference to naughtiness, with pirate looking outfit in ecru and white. Loose
long sleeve shirt with a deep opening embellished with flowers.
From tube tops to blazers, the whole collection is 100% wearable. The only thing you have
to think of is where to go!
My personal favorite is the long sleeved mini skirt dress in chocolate. The low-waisted belt
decorate with flowers is a nice touch. Reminds me of the 1970s, before the disco era took over.
Presented to an intimate crowd of buyers and fashion journalists, the Spring 2002 Collection is
something New York needs right now - a little smile, a little perk-me up and a feeling of hopefulness
for the days to come.
