The Englishman in Italy, that is David Wyatt. Though he is a subject of the Queen, his creations
are manufactured by the Romans.
Spring 2001 is his first show for London Fashion Week. Nostalgia of the 1920s with the delicateness
and grace of the speak-easies and flapper. You almost expect to see the models enter the Cotton Club
with their long pearl necklaces!
Column dresses and slouchy trousers, preppy knits and long-sleeved dresses - if this was in New York,
I would say that the models are dressed for summer at Martha's Vineyard. But wait, do I hear strains
of the Charleston? Definitely nostalgia of the roaring 1920s.
