New York, Aug 11, 2000/ FW/ --- New York-based designer Donna Haag took a cue from visual
merchandising for her Fall 2000 presentation held last February.
Instead of holding a runway show, the designer decided to use store windows to present her
collection.
Using the tricks of the trade of visual merchandising, Donna Haag hang the clothes using
invisible wire so that the clothes looked like they are floating.
She also used clear body body forms to give the clothes "shape," giving the feeling of
an invisible model.
It was a winter in the forest setting. Fake snow and pine tree limbs were used for the
effect.
To give drama, spotlights were used in strategic places, creating light and shadow and
highlighting the clothes.
To emphasize her use of luxurious fabrics, Donna Haag showed fabric swatches using metal
poles.
The fabric swatches were stretched over two metal poles and hung on the wall.
