DKNY Jeans: Fun and Vibrant
By Randal Jacobs
MILAN, Feb 22, 2005/ FW/ --- Donna Karan International jean line is definitely a sensational collection full of rich texture and made-by-hand fabrics…
This younger line for Donna Karan is all about flea market finds mixed with fine denim. With this collection only being available in Europe and the Far East, it is sure to be a success for the New York designer.
The collection was full of colour with pink coats, red blazers and floral print dresses. A few winters muted pales were splashed in for some basic items. Tweed coats were layered atop chiffon dresses and denim jackets finished many looks with jeans and cord trousers.
Jeans were at different lengths and styles that ranged from cropped to flared. Cuffs will be a great look for men along with darker denim in deep rinses and dusted vintage finishes. Cocoa, gray and black denim is revamped in the denim department as well which adds to the antique look of the collection.
For the DKNY male, he will be very basic with army and motorcycling jackets. Underneath these nice jackets will be basic logo shirts and hoodies. Not so gritty, but definitely a little grungy for these fallen angels of street wear.
DKNY is definitely true New York youthful street style to an international market.
