DALLAS, Aug 8, 2006/ FW/ --- Fall 2006 is the season of ladylike dressing and Donna Karan had her eyes on the uptown girls, proposing very structured little black dresses that reach just above the knee.
From the classic wrap dress to the contemporary jumpers, Donna Karan wants every girl to look like a 5th Avenue princess that is demure yet sophisticated.
The collection, which is already available in stores, is the epitome of uptown dressing. Luxurious without being blatant, elegant without being understated, Donna Karan found the perfect pitch for the modern metro girl.
Mixing structure with volume, box pleats were sparingly used. Skirts flared slowly and cautiously, enough to give it shape, but not losing the structured look.
Trousers are slim on the pantsuit sets, and so are the jumpsuits meant for evening. Accessories are modest, almost hidden at times. No bling bling please.
Because it’s fall, and we are on the way to winter, it was on the outer coats and trenches that Donna Karan went all out, proposing a layered cape decorated with bows!
Now, better get to the nearest store before it is sold out!
