NEW YORK, Sep 16, 2004/ FW/ -- For Hannant's Spring 2005 collection, he opened with "Fire" playing in the background. And when the spotlights came on, both the entrance and the exit used by the models had a simulation of flames rising up against the wall.
Douglas Hannant showed 38 looks full of colors adorned with fringe trims, tiered ruffles, feather trims, embroidery, sequins and best of all the turquoise trimmings which was also worn as accessory by most of the models.
His setting was the very exotic Taos and the backyard of New Mexico where American Indian heritage is quite big.
A very soft and breezy fabric that highlights the curvaceous silhouette of a woman was the main attraction.
From the sunflower/white tweed fringe trimmed jacket and pant to a lavender suede halter dress with turquoise trim as well as a sand beaded tank top and champagne sequined pant enough to lure that certain someone who catches one's attention is perfect to go from day to a night out on the town.
And noticeably, the designer sent most of the models out with only one big hoop turquoise earring on. A big hit since everyone seems to have noticed it, also paying special attention to all the other fine details within the collection. Like the wonderful matching hand bags for some of the pieces.
Hannant also showed some very exotic and sexy looking gowns that will entice your night and is sure to be a head turner. Like his desert rose chiffon tiered gown, the pink/coral embroidered gown, the sunset ombre chiffon gown that has that very sexy and elegant swish with every step.
But lastly, most of the women in the audience will probably go out and get the black shirred tulle camisole and point d'esprit skirt once it hits the store front comes Spring 2005 which was the final piece shown.
Very romantic and as the various rendition of his background music goes, "Romeo and Juliet and Samson and Delilah", ooh "Fire". The show certainly sizzled.
