Mar 6, 2000/ FW/ --- This is the first time we are covering Everett Hall, the designer whom
GQ voted in 1995 as the most popular store for celebrities.
The Washington D.C.-based designer has proven to be a favorite with celebrities like Steven Baldwin,
Maury Povich, Sugar Leonard and the current heartthrob and Calvin Klein model, Antonio Sabato, Jr.
So, this collection is a "must-see" for me, according to my wife, who is a big fan of
Antonio Sabato, Jr.
For me, I like attending menswear shows, for personal reasons (I want to know what will be available
for me in the coming season) and for professional reasons - very few reviewers attend menswear shows.
I want to give the "men" a chance. Womenswear shows are very popular and get a lot of attention because
of the glitz and glamour that is inherent to the collection.
Menswear is more subtle. The details of the design is what counts most, which is hard to see
in a fast-paced runway show.
And that is where Everett Hall excelled - attention to details!
Sending classic suits on the runway, Everett Hall's whole collection is meant for the young
intern or up and coming congressman.
The collection is about dressing right and looking right - from the boardroom to the hallowed
halls of Congress.
But don't think for one moment that the look is conservative!
The silhouette is actually modern and sleek, and probably the reason why Everett Hall is a
favorite among celebrity clients.
The overall look is "classic," perfect for the very formal atmosphere at the nation's capital,
and perfect also for the fashionable parties of Hollywood.
In short, you can wear it to a state dinner given by a foreign dignitary, and still be at
home when in L.A. dining with Steven Spielberg.
The Everett Hall man is "a man for all season and all occassions."
