Ghost Busters

London, Feb 20, 2001/ FWD/ --- It was off to high tea in the Grosvenor House on Park
Lane for the Ghost show.
Loosely inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" (with a bad-girl twist), the Fall/Winter
2001 Ghost collection was packed with sexy items - definitely not the sort of clothes a gal should
wear to meet prospective in-laws.
After viewers got a chance to quaff down a few well-prepared cups of tea, the show opened powerfully
with a dozen slinky-chic boudoir looks like satin camisoles in lime and scarlet or steamy georgette
dresses, cut way up. The clothes practically shouted "Come hither, lover." Even the wool pajamas and
boarding school dressing gowns looked hot.
Butterflies took flight throughout: fluttering on devoré cardigans, linking up on asymmetric skirts,
dancing around georgette "modesty" dresses that were anything but.
Ghost has achieved rapid growth in recent years, and one can see why. In our happily liberating era,
these clothes are for women who are proud of their bodies and at ease flaunting what they've got.
One jacket was even entitled "Eat Me."
Topping off an impressive collection, a brazen bride wore an ivory georgette slip, grand velvet coat
and a small forest of antique emeralds and diamonds from famed Bond St. jeweler The House of Mouawad.
And they say afternoon tea calms you down.
