Emporio Armani MILAN, Jan 18, 2006/ FW/ --- Just when you start believing that Giorgio Armani has settled down as part of the establishment, he turns around and surprises everyone with a technologically savvy collection that can only be meant for the high-tech road warriors of today.

The Emporio Armani gent has always been mixing business with pleasure, and though in the past, he was a hedonist of sorts, for Fall 2006, he had grown up and took a job in Information Technology.

He still jets around the world, but instead of leisure, he actually attends meeting, trouble shoots errant computer systems or run a corporation with his mobile phone and computer.

For this grown up Emporio gent, Giorgio Armani created a complete wardrobe that would allow him to be the resident techie by day and the fun loving guy at night and weekends.

Loose fitting suits with rounded shoulders give an air of casualness; paired with lean crushed velvet trousers makes him into a fashion plate. Instead of wearing the obligatory white shirts, he dons his favorite nautical stripes.

Of course, like a chameleon, he can easily turn more formal by wearing a tie with his snug fitting pinstriped suits. Even don a tuxedo with electric blue piping on the edge of the lapels. After all, he is still a rebel at heart, and refuse to be classified as one of those ‘suits’ in the corporate world.

Off duty and off work, the Emporio Armani gent reverts to his love for sports, donning sunglasses and wearing leather bomber jackets that are hand stitched, or woven nylon, that are sometimes quilted with a ripple design.

Chances are, Giorgio Armani was not thinking of X-Men, wherein the third installment is due in theaters late this year. It’s just that some of those high-tech silhouettes are reminiscent of the very popular action heroes in the sci-fi thriller.

And if he was, then it just proves that Giorgio Armani continues to understand the zeitgeist of the current generation.
