DALLAS, Aug 8, 2005/ FW/ --- To say that Giorgio Armani is a master tailor will be an understatement. After all, he was the one who introduced a new philosophy in men’s dressing and closed the chasm between business suits and leisurewear during the 1970s.
Forty years later, Giorgio Armani is still going strong, and as a treat to his fans, for Spring/Summer 2006, he has declared that it will be the Year of the Jacket, and restated his philosophy of bridging the gap between business and leisure wear.
From double-breasted to single button suits, from Safari to bomber jackets, Armani opted for soft styles for men proposing lightweight fabrics for the warmer weather.
He vacillated from formal to casual, from business to leisure, from neckties to without ties without missing a beat.
And to paraphrase William Hinley in his poem “Invictus,” the Giorgio Armani gent is “master of his fate and captain of his soul,” as he morphs from being a member of the board of a multinational corporation to a sailor enjoying the weekend in his yacht.
Because that is also one of the reasons why Giorgio Armani has many devotees from all walks of life, from the four corners of the globe, from 18 to 80.
No man is too young or too old to wear an Armani suit. In fact, no one is too poor or too rich to covet owning one! It’s the timeless silhouettes that make them desirable to men.
And the Spring/Summer 2006 collection presented last June is Milan is no exception!
