MILAN, Aug 9, 2005/ FW/ --- As the city empties while the Milanese head straight for the Italian Riviera, it is easy to think of the Emporio Armani Spring / Summer 2006 collection wherein the nautical influence was very clear.
Fresh and crisp, the collection that was shown last June here in Milan has the soft and relaxed look that will go easy on those Mediterranean cruises and if you are one of the lucky ones who owns a yacht.
Be it on a ship’s deck or on the boardwalk, the leisure suits and bomber jackets paired with loose fitting pants are sure head turners.
Accessories of choice are silver brooches on lapels and artistically shaped belt buckles. And to show that he had not lost his sense of humor after all these years, Giorgio Armani created a belt buckle with the design of the dollar sign!
Ah, to announce to the world that you can afford an Armani, subtle as it maybe with a tongue-in-cheek attitude truly differentiates the Emporio Armani gent from the rest.
While the Giorgio Armani label mixed business with leisure wears, this Emporio Armani collection is mixing leisure with pleasure as the crumpled chic micro fiber and cotton pants together with the silk pajama pants once again redefines the term leisure wear for men.
The best of all, in this season of color, Giorgio Armani played with earth tones and midnight blues with hints of silver for sparkle.
