Dec 31, 2001/ FW/ --- To say that I'm a fan of Giorgio Armani is an understatement. Since
American Gigolo, I have always loved his clothes.
Last season, when he introduced Emporio Armani Womenswear, I was beyond excitement. Another
great label from the master!
This season, Giorgio Armani kept on hitting home runs. First with his Teatro Armani, then his
Giorgio Armani collection and now, the Emporio Armani Collection.
Spring 2002 is just what you expect from him, understated elegance. From the generously cut
pants to the waist-length tops, the collection just exuded glamour.
My personal favorite is the black and white stripes pant set- vertical for the bottom and
horizontal for the top, accessorized with a white hat.
I don't know if the master got his inspiration from the Hawaiian grass skirts or the native
American squaw, but the fringe worn on top of the pants and the dresses was a nice touch.
There is a touch of Americana, Giorgio Armani style of course!
From the Americana trend that is happening this season, the master just showed us how he is still
the best!
