Giorgio Armani MILAN, Jan 19, 2007/ FW/ --- Continuing his vision of a return to masculinity, Giorgio Armani’s eponymous line followed the same line of thinking but with the ‘grown-up’ man in mind.

‘Grown-up’ does not necessarily mean old; it is a state of mind when one had reached adulthood. So, to send that message of grown-upness, Giorgio Armani used models who are in their 20s, instead of adolescent boys, a bold statement in a business that puts youth at a premium.

With more than a score and twenty exits shown, there are a lot to choose from when a boy becomes a man. Three-piece suit made up of a suit jacket in tiny checks, almost microscopic really, a gray vest with black placket and Nehru-collar shirt paired with off-the waist loose fitting trousers was the first look proposed.

What followed were several variations of the three-piece suit – two-button, one-button and three-button suits, with the necktie as an optional accessory.

Multiple variant of the outer jacket, from the gray & black plaid to leather lined with shearling and of course jackets made from animal skin.

Trench coats came in the traditional style or cut like a tent, made from natural or high-tech fabric, that is sometime also lined with shearling. There were subtle military references, mostly from the WWI Russian army, same with the trousers that were intended to be tucked into army style boots sans the laces.

Armani made sure that there is a lot of styles and looks to choose from, ranging from shiny fabric to those without sheen. It’s a wardrobe for all men this season.
