PARIS, Oct 4, 2006/ FW/ --- Marithé + François Girbaud sent out row after row of fresh faced beauties for their Spring Summer 2007 collection, bobbing their way through a Tetris mine of alternating stands.

Presenting first to the right, the center and then the left, each ascending her perch for a moment to preen in the desert sun and descending to continue whacking the bush: whether it be city streets, mountainous hills or an African jungle.

Pre-wrinkled all weather outfits and delicate floating soft sheers were combined to create an edgy yet soft feminine mystique. Safari's are hot so Girbaud made sure the ladies stayed cool with a muted color palette lots of off-white, nudes and beiges with an algae green thrown in for an environmental effect.

Distressed fitted leather jackets and sheer opera gloves melded to the models like a second skin. Tulip hems and scalloped skirts combined with gold boots and balloon pocket skirts with ribboned vest contradicted and complimented one another.

Laser cut underpinnings on skirts and dresses represented foliage of the bush. High waisted corseted pants with suspenders and jodhpurs spoke to an explorer and a discovery of things unseen.

Mosaic pieces created from polished earth stones used as jewelry and tops as well as appliqué accents on sheer net shirts gave the collection texture and depth.

Gold was the metal of choice and there was lots of it appearing in jewelry as well as embellishments. The distressed leather jacket and jodhpurs were key pieces to the collection serving as the connecting pieces between summer and fall.
