NEW YORK, Dec 5, 2002/ FW/ --- The Spring 2003 season was very important to Girls Rule!
The show celebrated it's 17th season at 7th on Sixth last September 19th.
This season, Girls Rule! was sponsored by seventeen magazine (who else!)
and the show once again was the the only Spring 2003 runway event catering to girls
everywhere.
Show producers and creators of Girls Rule!, Oliver Dow and Darren Greenblatt
of O&D Productions, are credited with being pioneers of the hotly pursued
teen/youth market fashion show and have consistently showcased the best and
brightest talents in the junior market.
Over the years, collections that have shown with Girls Rule! have included
young upstarts like Planet Yumthing, Love-life, and Smashing Grandpa as well as
established mega-brands including Custo Barcelona, Dollhouse, Hello Kitty,
Quicksilver, Roxy and Stephen Hardy for Squeeze.
Throw out your notions of what teen fashion is all about, Girls Rule! pushes
the envelope a bit further each season, showcasing the hottest looks that will
turn up the heat in any classroom and are sure to make many fathers nervous
about their little girls growing up.
This season's lineup included cutting edge teen fashions by Glo Jeans,
Jordache, Killah, Levi's, Planet Yumthing, Maria Dionisiou and American Eagle
Outfitters.
As the teen market continues to explode, each season Girls Rule! presents to
a packed room of retailers, press, teen celebrities and stylemakers. Attendees
can always count on seeing the newest faces walk down the runway in the freshest
fashions.
This season, style icon Garren of Garren New York designed the hairstyles
along with Jeanine Lobell of Stila creating the makeup.
To add to all the hoopla seventeen had added an exciting element this year as
the fashion show included images featured in the magazine over the past 50
years.
Designers have chosen photos from the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's that
influenced the upcoming season's fashions.
The images was incorporated into a slide presentation that will run
before the designers display their fashions on the runway.
