MILAN, Oct 3, 2003/ FW/ --- She is sexy, but undertone, extravagant and definitely not to be trusted.
No prints, no appliqué, just fine monochrome pieces in the exhibition of Gucci’s new spring summer 2004 woman last night in Milan.
Tom Ford plays with duality by mixing sporty elements and finely crafted garments, comfortable chic and body hugging desirable.
Zips are used instead of buttons on tailored jackets with double ribbon stripes down side seams, oversized comfortable bomber jackets with elastic used for cuffs and waists are worn with straight skirts and gold heels.
The Gucci girl wears a gold reptile jacket blending day and night.
Jersey’s and shiny silks are tucked, folded, pleated and skilfully stitched creating fan effects for evenings and semi rouging for days, down pants, jackets and skirts.
Tom Ford chooses a pale palette in romantic pinks and naturals but uses balanced splashes of colour with delicious purple, yellow and green GG motif flat bags.
Excess and extravagance, feathered small boleros in white, yellow and fuchsia over glittering dresses.
Nights are for sinning and Eve with silver serpents circling her arms and body is cheeky, slender, passionate and simply irresistible in her role as temptress.
With a double figure rise after recent economic down fall and plan to concentrate more on the growing Chinese market, even Domenico De Sole is bound to be under the spell of this season’s Gucci woman.
