NEW YORK, Feb 11, 2004/ FW/ --- Magnificent! Excellent! And in today’s new slang for cool, it’s dope!
The Halston Fall 2004 collection by Bradley Bayou should have been shown during the Paris Haute Couture show. It has all the elements for great couture clothes – great design, exquisite detailing and impeccable hands-on tailoring.
The show even had the intimacy of couture. Shown to a small audience in two rooms that look like an old fashioned atelier, guests to the show can inspect the whole collection up close and personal.
Inspired by “America’s natural terrain,” Bradley Bayou’s 17-piece collection featured hand embroidered mother of pearl, laser cut cascading leaves and sterling silver sequined and crystals.
“The fall foliage and changing leave of northern New England was my predominant inspiration for the collection,” said Bradley Bayou. “I was also very much inspired by the white birch trees and snowy landscapes of Aspen.”
The “snowy landscapes of Aspen” came alive in the tailored ivory wool crepe pantsuit with pleated jacket which will be a must have this fall for the active socialite and junior leaguer.
And the rest… let us just say that come fall, we will be wishing very hard that all of us can afford Halston, because every piece in this collection will be a great addition to our wardrobe.
The final exit, a five-layer metallic organza ball gown is Cinderella personified in the 21st century. With its iridescent colors that changes depending on how the light strikes it, is to die for.
A young debutante on her coming of age party wearing this dress will be a sight to behold when she is introduced to society.
Bradley Bayou has captured the essence of Halston and also made it his own. You can hear his voice loud and clear in this collection and still the reason why the House of Halston has become legendary when it comes to American fashion.
