PARIS, Mar 9, 2003/ FW/ --- The model sitting on the trampoline set the tone of Hussein
Chalayan's Fall 2003 show held at Theatre de Paris last Friday. It was all about a sporty
look, Hussein Chalayan style.
It was also about the circles and curves
The designer used keyholes, not necessarily perfect circles. It could be an oval, or just
ovate, or just a curve.
This theme was repeated in all the pieces in the collection.
Using black and plaid as his main palette, it was signature Hussein Chalayan - a heady concept
(the circle) transformed into architectural clothing.
The silhoutte is slim, and the look has a hard edge.
For Fall 2003, the Hussein Chalayan woman is athletic and strong. She is poised for
everything and anything.
And like the circle she is complete and complex. On a leap of logic, this collection
is also a celebration of the woman.
